Rewind While Sleeping

Part of a collection of musicians from the Philly/Jersey area, Memory Cassette seemingly sprang from members of Hail Social and Weird Tapes. Information is scarce on these side projects; however, most of the music from the collective is made available for free download on a joint website/blog. 

Although most of music is worth listening to, the Rewind While Sleeping EP under the Memory Cassette moniker is particularly noteworthy. Short, focused and blissfully hazed-out, the EP is a concoction of disco, house, shoegaze, and electro-pop. A rewarding, atmospheric subtlety is revealed with careful listening. As with their counterparts, free downloads, and the near clandestine character of the musicians themselves, exhibit an alluring ethos. They provide the music gratis, you reciprocate with a bit of your time to listen in return, and all is well.
